The CLASS Program or Community Living Assistance Services and Supports (CLASS) Program is to be realized through the Affordable Care Act. CLASS is a country-wide, voluntary assistance program.
This program aims to preserve independence for individuals in their communities. It will cover for services and support programs that benefit those who have functional limitations. The program will be ideal for individuals who need assistance with basic daily living activities, mobility and self-care skills.
With the program, working adults aged 18 years old and above will be given a realistic choice to stay independent in their homes – thus reducing cases of institutionalization. It will be made available by October of the year 2012.
